SUSTAINABILITY AT SPORTKIND

THERE IS NO PLANET B

Sustainable sportswear

Since our founding, we’ve placed great importance on producing sustainable sportswear. In today’s consumer-driven society, we believe that as a clothing brand, sustainability is not optional – it’s essential. So what is our contribution to a more viable future? For us, sustainability means taking responsibility – both socially and environmentally.

Our sustainable sportswear is built on three key pillars:
slow fashion, fair production, and long-lasting quality.

Slow Fashion

We take a stand against throwaway culture. You won’t find constantly changing collections here. Instead, we focus on clean, timeless designs that remain part of our range long term. We don’t chase every trend – we prioritise quality and consistency. This means you can buy our bestsellers for years to come, helping to reduce overproduction and protect the environment. And if you love a shirt, you’ll be able to get it again – even years later, in a different colour.

Fair production

Our sustainable sportswear is made exclusively in family-run businesses across Europe. Thanks to our close partnerships with suppliers, we operate as equals, ensuring fair wages and safe working conditions. Producing in Europe allows us to avoid long supply chains and reduce CO₂ emissions. We know our supply chain from start to finish. Instead of relying on countless subcontractors, we focus on honest cooperation and genuine appreciation. This is how we take full responsibility and guarantee that our sportswear is made under the best possible conditions. Our products are packaged in reusable polybags to protect them effectively while minimising waste. As these bags are used multiple times, they may show signs of wear – a conscious step toward greater sustainability.

Our Quality Promise

Sustainable sportswear and exceptional quality go hand in hand for us. The reason is simple: the longer you can wear your favourite pieces, the less often you need to buy new ones. That conserves resources and uses them more efficiently. That’s why we use only high-quality performance fabrics from Italy for our activewear. These materials, combined with professional craftsmanship, ensure above-average durability. Our goal is to create garments that last five years – not just five washes.

But that’s not all. Before any new model joins our collection, it goes through a rigorous testing phase. We evaluate every detail – from sleeve length to seams, as well as the core design and overall functionality. A model only makes it into production once our testers – regardless of body type, age, or personal style – are completely satisfied. This is how we guarantee that you always receive the best possible quality.

Vegan, responsible materials

At SPORTKIND, we are committed to using responsible, vegan materials – for animals, people and the environment. We deliberately avoid animal-based components and instead rely on plant-based and synthetic alternatives. This means you can be sure that no animal had to suffer for your outfit and that, at the same time, your sportswear helps to protect our planet. Our fabrics are sourced from sustainable suppliers and manufactured using innovative processes designed to keep the environmental footprint as low as possible.

We also place great importance on the safety and skin-friendliness of our textiles. Our polyamide fabrics are certified according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This means that they have been tested by independent institutes for a wide range of potentially critical substances – including formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticides, allergy-inducing dyes and plasticisers. The applicable thresholds are strict and are regularly updated in line with the latest scientific findings.

For you, this means that our fabrics, which are worn directly against the skin, are tested for harmful substances, skin-friendly and vegan. In this way, we combine animal welfare, environmental protection and product safety – complemented by short supply chains, long-lasting quality and fair partnerships in production.

Our GoGreen Certificate

We are proud to be part of the DHL Group’s GoGreen programme. This certificate confirms that, through the use of GoGreen products and services, we have offset 7 tonnes of CO₂e. By investing in global climate protection projects, DHL Group compensates for our transport and logistics emissions. In doing so, we are making a clear statement of our commitment to climate protection and the reduction of our ecological footprint.
